Course #CSM101 Career Strategy

This is a course that all of the Academy instruction and experiences over the past few weeks.

This final employment-prep model prepares participants for perspective employment and internships by developing a proactive career strategy which includes a 5, 10 and 20-year plan along with a cryptic, but futuristic view at what retirement may look like. In this classroom setting participants are again exposed to an in the field speaker series, use their new internet research skills to locate employment and intern resources, refine career objectives ,learn resume writing techniques. With assistance from Academy staff, participants again explore the dress for success model and refine hair, makeup and clothing choices. The model is complete when participants take part in a taped mock interview session, which allows them to experience the total employment process as they learn to dress for success. The mock interview sessions are given constructive criticisms by the group conducted by Academy staff, corrections are made, then participants go through the mock process again, noting improvements along the way.
