Course # BCAM101 Basic Communications

Projecting a Positive Professional Image at Home, On The Set & On Camera

In this model participants begin using the microphone and learn to communicate a winning on camera personality professional image in the way they look, act and present themselves in person and on camera they discover the professional self image that feels right to them is acceptable to peers at school, to colleagues and superiors on the set. Participants explore hair and makeup choices and learn to dress for success with assistance from Academy staff.

Students explore personal development, find that their personal development level is directly connected to their self-image and that self-image speaks volumes about you, every time you enter a room full of people, even before getting the opportunity to speak. We also explore how yes it's unfair that another person can look at you, and pass judgment on how they feel you are, before even meeting you.

Ok it's unfair, but it's called first impressions, and it's up to you to make sure you make a good one, so take a second look at yourself in the mirror in the morning and again before leaving home, and think, is this the best I can do with what I have? In this model each person is also videotaped, and get to see themselves on camera from all sides, as everyone else sees them, the model is "diagnostic", "prescriptive" and also assesses personal lexicon, typing and vocabulary skills, writing, and oral presentation. The model coaches, help you see measured progress and provide specific suggestions for improved self-image. The instruction is specific to personal and social development and a seamless connection to the basic skills instructed in broadcast communication model.
