Course # ACAM102 Advanced Communication

In this model students are required to rotate into every position on the crew, so students transition from the safety and comfort of the behind the camera position and are placed in front of the camera with a microphone in a Television or ENG style production of their own.

Using a type of (English 101) the model begins motivate participants to actively challenge their ability to communicate verbally and on paper refining sentence structure, reintroducing participants to verbs, conjunctions, nouns, and adjectives in a non-traditional context. The reward and practical application is participation in ancillary activities such learning to gain press accreditation, working the red carpet and press junkets at the Academy Awards, NAACP Image and Soul Train Award shows.

Vocabulary building and corrective diction is reinforced with practical application of all the instructed verbal and written communication skills while learning to conduct interviews with interesting people they may not have met had they not had their own camera crew.
