Mr. Mitchell has been working with young people in Los Angeles since 1974, where at age 14 he worked as a Peer Counselor with the Anti Self-Destruction Incorporated, Youth Counsel and Referral Service Agency. He is now the Vice President and Executive Director of the agency. The ASD agency's present focus is on the personal development of youth through an eclectic group of programs designed to attract and hold the interest of our youth, while teaching personal development, job skills and money management. He holds a Doctorate of Divinity from I.D.M.R. of Pomona.

Mr. Mitchell was employed by the Los Angeles Unified School District on the Crenshaw High School and Mount Vernon Middle School campuses. After his years with the LAUSD, Mr. Mitchell began working with residential treatment centers as a resource developer, moved into management and a directorship of the Teens World residential treatment center and various other centers under contract with the Department of Children and Family Services and the Department of Probation. 

In 1994, he began serving as a treatment center liaison for non-public educational institutions in the Los Angeles and Santa Monica areas. In 1997, he began contractually providing case management services to at-risk youth and families through agencies under contract with the City and County of Los Angeles.    

Further, he graduated from the Rio Hondo Fire Academy, and worked for the City of Lynwood and the County of Los Angeles as a Fire Fighter Trainee, and as a Reserve Fire Fighter for the cities of Alhambra and Compton. Mr. Mitchell has been recognized for his work with youth in Southern California by the California State Senate, World Wins Corporation, the Congress of the United States of America, the City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and the UCLA School of Public Policy and Social Research Department of Social Welfare for assisting in the training of new LCSW interns.

As a professional photographer/videographer for 15 years, his photographic passions are High Fashion Photography and Photojournalism. Over the past five years, he has become more interested in teaching photojournalism. Moreover, he has had articles published about his personal work and his photojournalism students in the LA Times (Our Times section), LA Sentinel, Watts Times, the Wave, the Big Issue Magazine, USA and the Tribune d'Genève in Geneva.

He, as well as his student Photojournalists, has worked internationally in Geneva, Paris and Amsterdam. Mr. Mitchell works with students from major universities across America, India, Africa and Europe, involving them in local as well as international projects, as temporarily accredited photojournalists at the UN in Geneva. Mr. Mitchell currently serves as a Director of Media Relations for the FETE d'EXCELLENCE in Geneva, Switzerland. Among his many duties, he is responsible for FETE UN Press and FETE Delegate Accreditation at the UN events in Geneva.
